why guidepost?

Guidepost Montessori at Prosperity is a welcoming and diverse community in an up-and-coming area of Charlotte. We welcome your family to our community.

  • Authentic Montessori
    The Montessori Approach

The Montessori method of education offers a knowledge-rich environment, through a child-led model. Children learn joyfully, through working with carefully-sequenced, hands-on materials. Your child’s enthusiastic exploration naturally leads to a solid foundation and advanced academics.

  • Spanish Immersion Options

Full language immersion is the best way to offer your child the well-studied “bilingual advantage.” Research shows that bilingual children demonstrate enhanced cognitive flexibility, a result of regularly stretching their language “muscles” in multiple ways. At our campus, we offer Spanish immersion opportunities for your child.

  • A Dependable Partner

We believe that an important part of our role is to serve as a support system for your family. We try to be here when you need us, with late pick-up hours and minimal school closures. And because the Montessori approach works best when manifested in a community of like minds, we hold regular campus events and get-togethers.

from our community

  • Chris and Beth with their son Lucas (age 1), Guidepost Nido student

We love our Guidepost school and especially Lucas’s incredible Nido guides. They nurture our son’s cognitive, physical, and emotional growth every day, and we’re grateful to have them as a part of our proverbial village. We’re thrilled that we could start Lucas down the Montessori path at an early age, and we love watching him flourish in his Nido classroom.

Ryan with his son Kainoa (age 2), Guidepost Toddler student

My kids have developed into capable and compassionate people. The school feels like a community, a family…their guides know their individual tastes and attitudes and cater to that. I love that the program emphasizes practical life (things like learning to get dressed by yourself), as well as the ‘grace and courtesy’ lessons when it comes to sharing. It's a global vision, which I love.

  • Kanwal with her daughter Aaira (age 5), Guidepost Children's House student

Aaira’s Guidepost Montessori school is a friendly and uplifting environment. The teachers and administration are hardworking and dedicated. I like the three-hour work cycle in Children’s House, and the flexible ‘extended day’ class schedule. For Aaira, that means lots of Montessori in a single day, every day!

  • Lindsay with her son Tristan (age 7) and daughter Calista (age 10), both Guidepost Elementary students

I love how kind and positive Tristan and Calista’s peer group is. I also appreciate the beautiful classroom and fun after-school program. My kids don’t want to leave at the end of the day! I love how warm the teachers and administration are and how openly they communicate about my children’s progress. The learning is joyful and engaging. My children actually love school and are learning so much!

I love the staff. They treat everyone as family, and they love my daughter as if she was their own. She truly loves all the guides here. Guidepost is so family-friendly…everyone is so warm and welcoming, and I love knowing my daughter is in such a nurturing environment. I love how hands-on my daughter’s learning is. She is learning wonderful life skills as such a young age!

Guidepost provides an authentic Montessori curriculum and materials. I love that Kinda’s teachers are AMI-trained, which is very important…the administrative team is helpful and friendly. • Amanda with her daughter Isabella (age 3), Guidepost Children's House student, and son Jacob (6 months old), Nido student

I love the amazing staff, who help take care of the children as a community. The kids’ teachers treat each child as an individual and pay close attention to their needs and readiness for new materials and work. For Jacob, the Nido room facilitates independence, confidence in the self, and respect for the child’s own body and space.

Guidepost’s teachers and administration work really hard to create an environment that is warm and inclusive to all children. The Guidepost community is amazing. Guidepost’s staff see each individual child as an individual and truly strive to bring out Maxwell’s true potential — they promote independence, and we’ve seen Maxwell just thrive since he started at age 3. Guidepost's administration and teachers are kind, caring and understanding — they always take the time to listen to parents and ensure all our needs are met in regard to our child. We also love the low class size, the amazing tools and opportunities in the classroom, and how informed they keep us — we love the constant communication.

  • Lakshminarasimha and Aparna with their children Mukunda (age 2), Toddler student, and Saraswatee (age 5), Elementary student

We love all the people, and the culture they are building, at Guidepost. The teachers are loving and empathetic…they are here when you need any tips! The administration is prompt and accommodating. They don’t sell anything — they think about your situation and suggest what’s good for you. The programs encourage our children to build up new skills every day, develop inner discipline, be respectful, lead others, and challenge themselves.
