Our Mission 

Guidepost Montessori Virtual School is part of a larger network of schools called Guidepost Montessori. Since 2016, our schools have spread the transformative power of Montessori education by opening high-fidelity campuses worldwide. Guidepost Virtual School introduces Montessori pedagogy to families while in the comfort of their own home; combining online learning with a consistent classroom community, access to Montessori expertise and support and the delivery of hands-on supplies and materials to enhance a child’s learning and development from birth through sixth grade. 

About the Role  

The Program Director/Program Manager will work closely with the Guidepost Montessori Virtual School team to ensure an exceptional high-quality programmatic student and family experience. This includes but is not limited to right-fit class placement, family program integration and support, classroom guide hiring and onboarding, classroom observations and feedback. The Program Director will report directly to the Virtual Head of School with the sole purpose of providing a high-quality program combined with unparalleled customer service to our enrolled families.  

The ideal Program Director excels in working and supporting trained Montessori guides, has a customer service mindset, and can quickly address and problem solve issues and concerns. He or she can support organizing multiple requests, coordinating varied workstreams at once, and has deep programmatic experience in delivering a high-fidelity Montessori education. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

Provide a welcoming, supportive experience for students, families and guides: 

  • Work with families and the VS leadership team to understand the specifics of student needs to provide spot-on classroom placement  
  • Communicate Guidepost Virtual School’s value and be able to confidently articulate how we support a strong virtual community alongside our high-quality educational program 
  • Build genuine long-term relationships and establish trust with each family and staff member 
  • Track program growth to ensure adequate hiring of guides in order to open new classrooms in alignment with rolling admissions 
  • Forecast hiring needs, interview and hire high-quality candidates and onboard new virtual school teachers  
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide timely feedback and support structures to quickly problem solve programmatic issues or concerns 
  • Support classroom planning for guide time off and ensure consistency of program and adequate support in class as needed 
  • Work in support of the Head of School to achieve Virtual School programmatic and retention outcomes  
  • Work in support of implementing the vision and direction set by the centralized Guidepost Programs team 
  • Gather feedback from all guides to iterate on process and support continuous improvement  

Support the Programmatic success of the Virtual School 

  • Support a portfolio of ~20 classrooms 
  • Develop and maintain a positive, professional relationship with familieseducatorsand colleagues 
  • Oversee the coordination of student placement, guide hiring and onboarding, student retention and associated logistics  
  • Work closely with the Virtual School leadership team to coordinate a stellar parent and student experience 

Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess: 

  • An understanding of what families go through to decide to join a virtual school community 
  • Incredible attention to detail and impeccable organizational, written and verbal communication, interpersonal and operational skills 
  • Understanding of educational options for parents, especially as it relates to COVID-19 changes  
  • 5+ years of experience working with Montessori school community with expertise in Early Childhood or Elementary Montessori pedagogy 
  • An entrepreneurial and energetic personality  
  • A strong work ethic and coachable attitude  
  • A customer-first attitude  
  • A solutions-oriented mindset 
  • A questioning attitude to promote understanding each family’s unique needs  
  • Experience working in a startup is a plus  

We will prefer you over other candidates if you have 

  • Experience as a certified Montessori guide or Montessori school leader for ages 0-6 or 6-12  
  • Expertise and certification in the Montessori method of education  
  • Experience and comfort working with technology, specifically Microsoft 360 and video conferencing platforms 
  • Knowledge of the virtual school landscape
