what makes us stand out.

How is the Guidepost Montessori approach different from conventional education?.

At Guidepost, we join with parents on their mission to help their child grow and live well. Together, we design an education to empower each child to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence she needs to craft an independent, flourishing life.

Though there are many differences between the conventional approach and Guidepost, here are some of the most important:

Conventional Education vs Guidepost Montessori
What is the Guidepost Mission?.

At Guidepost, our mission is to support each child in achieving her own independence. To do this, we help her gain the knowledge, build the skills, and craft the personal character she needs to flourish. Above all, our goal is to cultivate joy—in the pursuit of knowledge, in effort applied to work worth doing, in the achievements of herself and others, and in taking the steps to author her own life.

What are the outcomes of your programs?.

Montessori education is known world-wide for having positive impacts on both academics and social and emotional skills.

At Guidepost Montessori, when we design an environment to meet the developmental needs and interests of children alongside personalized care and support, the child can learn advanced skills at an accelerated pace.

Our students, for example, regularly learn to read by the time they’re 4-years-old and can perform all four math operations with 4-digit numbers by the end of their Kindergarten year.

The language and math skills of our kindergartners are on a par with what children in conventional programs learn in 3rd grade or beyond! What’s more, our students learn advanced academics joyfully—while simultaneously developing deep focus, self-discipline, and positive social skills.

Do your programs include Kindergarten?.

Yes! The third year of our Children’s House program, designed for 3- to 6-year-olds, is the capstone kindergarten year. In this year, the child has been well-prepared to experience an explosion of literacy, learn advanced math concepts, and use her hard-won ability to focus, problem-solve, and persist through challenges to then make advanced gains across the curriculum. Children who continue with Guidepost through Kindergarten are often well-ahead of their peers when they enter 1st grade.

Following elementary, students continue on to our Montessori middle and high school, the Academy of Thought & Industry: a school that combines a classical liberal arts emphasis on history and great books, and a Montessori emphasis on independence and agency.

How does Guidepost partner with parents?.

At Guidepost, we want to make the best education the best for children and parents. This is why we provide year-round, extended-day programming at no extra cost, enabling consistent and uninterrupted access to the care and developmental support parents expect. We invite you into your child’s world—with daily photo and video updates, regular milestone meetings, and parent-child events that showcase your child’s progress. We work to understand your unique context and needs, so that we can provide support for milestones at home as well as at school.

In everything we do, we strive to cultivate joy as you watch your child grow!

Our approach is designed to empower each child to achieve independence by combining our hands-on curriculum with personalized learning to create an environment where curiosity flourishes, independence grows, and academic excellence is a natural outcome.

We want your child to see and believe: “I am capable!”

what parents are saying.

Our daughter started attending guidepost about a month ago. She is two and in the toddler class. It’s amazing to see how much she has learned in such a short time. I was super worried about how she would adjust as this is her first school experience, but everything has gone so smooth. She is happy to go to school everyday and most days it’s difficult to get her to leave. She loves her classroom and guide Mrs. Ray!

I absolutely recommend this school for at the very least nido and toddler age children. We have been coming here for a little over a year and a half. I do not trust easily, however, this school has earned it and my appreciation for the work they do. I have been very blessed with this school in listening to my concerns when they arise and helping find a solution that works for everyone as well as finding the best fit teachers for my kids. For security reasons I won't name any names here, but, the "guides" my children have are amazing and the biggest reason why we continue to come here. In choosing a place for our children, my wife and I were adamant we wanted a place our kids looked forward to going to everyday, we found it. My little guy is so excited each day to see his friends and "guides" and that makes it all worth it. I speak with guides and leadership almost daily to get a feel for growth and development as well as making sure we are on the same page at home to help facilitate a positive and effective learning environment. I know they care for my children and want what is best for them as if they were their own. I could not ask for a more attentive and hard working group of people to look after my children during the work week. Thank you Guidepost Brushy Creek! We also really enjoy the events they host during the holidays, etc.. gives parents a chance to connect with other parents and plan things for the kids outside of school.

Both my kids are enrolled at Guidepost Brushy Creek, and we couldn’t be happier as a family. The staff is professional, educated and go above and beyond on all levels. The education provided helped our children make remarkable progress in various areas, from social skills to basic academic knowledge. Management and teachers are attentive, and always communicate with us to make sure we are informed, and well aware of our kids progress and safety. That’s a huge plus compared to other schools. Also, The school is always clean and well-organized. Overall, the whole experience has been a blessing to our family and we couldn’t be more pleased.

My son is in the toddler program and learning so much! His vocabulary has increased exponentially, from just knowing about 30 words to forming simple phrases and talking more with us. I love that they keep track of all the concepts he is working on and how he is introduced to new activities to keep him engaged. Everyone is super friendly, from the moment that we drop him off, to the interactions with his teachers, and when we pick him up. Mrs. Sara is super sweet and sends us a daily report on the activities he did and what he enjoyed the most. The school has taken a lot of precautions during COVID-19, including temperature checks, spraying his lunchbox, washing hands, and no shoes policy. Their school won an award for best practices recently! Way to go!

I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional experience my 1 year old daughter has had at this Montessori school. Ms. Marina and her leadership team here is not only open and caring but also genuinely invested in the children's growth and well-being. Her guides: Ms. Courtney, Ms. Michelle and Ms. Wendy are incredibly sweet and always available for communication, creating a warm and nurturing environment. Their flexibility and willingness to adapt to each child's needs have made a significant difference in my daughter's learning journey. I have witnessed her flourish under their guidance, and I couldn't be happier with her progress. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a nurturing, supportive, and enriching educational environment for their child. Thank you to the entire team for the fantastic work you do!

This is a wonderful school with amazingly loving staff and teachers. Every time you walk in the door, you are greeted by a staff member with a friendly smile on their face and you immediately feel welcome to be in their building. The students are very well mannered and have a true enthusiasm for learning. Their teachers and staff have created an environment that fosters discovery and intrinsic learning. The students at this school are in great hands and it is obvious by seeing the excitement on their faces that they love learning at Guidepost Montessori!

Guidepost is a wonderful school that I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a safe, exemplary school for their child to learn Montessori principles. My daughter is currently in the toddler class and Ms. Sara, Ms. Alma and Ms. Kache are WONDERFUL. I cannot say enough good things about these ladies! We just love them so much and so does my daughter. She wakes up asking for them and wants to go to school on weekends to see her teachers. Ms. Emily and Ms. Achara are also so sweet and it is lovely to have them greet all the children with their smiling faces every morning. I am very cautious about COVID and the school has been following closely along with CDC guidelines which I really appreciate, especially since our children cannot get vaccinated at this time. They send daily pictures and summaries through an online website and let us know if there has been a sick child so we can take proper precautions. I feel extremely grateful that we found this wonderful school!

This school has been everything I’ve been looking for for my kids. My daughter started their Elementary program this year and Ms Areli and Ms Lauren have been AMAZING with her; she’s already learning so much! Their toddler program also does not disappoint. Ms Lizbeth and Ms Jessica are truly meant for teaching these little tots, and their assistant teachers light up their students’ day as well. I haven’t encountered one teacher at the school who I truly didn’t love. Ms Suzanne is fabulous; her joy radiates throughout the whole school, and the ladies at the front desk are so friendly and helpful. Great school; I’m very impressed!
