Fiona Huang, Lead Children's House Guide
Fiona Huang is an experienced Montessori Guide with a deep passion for early childhood education. She earned her master’s degree of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a second master’s degree of Education in Early Childhood from Oklahoma City University in the United States. With rich international teaching experience in bilingual Montessori classrooms in the United States and China, Fiona became a very knowledgeable and cross-cultural AMS certified guide. Fiona believes that the purpose of education must be to elevate the individual child to achieve their interests and passion. As a philosophy, she believes the guide should not lose sight of the fact that the goal sought is not an immediate one - but rather to enable the development of a holistic individual, which she can assist by helping the child help themselves grow.
Emily Ouyang, Lead Nido Guide
Emily earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a master’s degree in educational psychology. She has extensive international education experience in Canada, the United States, and China (including Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Beijing). As an American Montessori Society (AMS) certified Infant and Toddler Guide, she has worked with teachers and parents in various cities in China. Emily is always willing to help families to gain a better understanding of their children and insight into the Montessori method. Currently, Emily is a Nido lead guide at Guidepost Montessori. With a heart and soul for early childhood education, the more Emily connects theory to practice, the more she believes that Montessori education can bring out the best in children as well as humanity.
