why guidepost?

Our beautiful new Vienna, Austria, school will be opening soon, and will be our second European campus. We're excited to soon be able to welcome you to our newest elementary community!

  • Authentic Montessori
    The Montessori Approach

The Montessori method of education offers a knowledge-rich environment, through a child-led model. Children learn joyfully, through working with carefully-sequenced, hands-on materials. Your child’s enthusiastic exploration naturally leads to a solid foundation and advanced academics.

  • A Family Experience
    A Close-Knit Community

Guidepost families tend to be friendly and welcoming folks, eager to make connections and form strong bonds. We think the education of our students is stronger when we can serve as a hub for such relationships, and we do all we can to foster a strong community in our area, with plenty of fun events and opportunities to meet and mingle.

  • A Convenient Campus
    A Dependable Partner

We believe that an important part of our role is to serve as a support system for your family. We try to be here when you need us, with late pick-up hours and minimal school closures. And because the Montessori approach works best when manifested in a community of like minds, we hold regular campus events and get-togethers.

  • Lindsay with her son Tristan (age 7) and daughter Calista (age 10), both Guidepost Elementary students

I love how kind and positive Tristan and Calista’s peer group is. I also appreciate the beautiful classroom and fun after-school program. My kids don’t want to leave at the end of the day! I love how warm the teachers and administration are and how openly they communicate about my children’s progress. The learning is joyful and engaging. My children actually love school and are learning so much!

I love the teachers and community at Guidepost; how loving everyone is. The teachers and administrators are so caring — they want the best experience for our family. I love how much they want to get the children excited for learning and how they apply Montessori to help the whole child develop to their best potential.

  • Lakshminarasimha and Aparna with their children Mukunda (age 2), Toddler student, and Saraswatee (age 5), Elementary student

We love all the people, and the culture they are building, at Guidepost. The teachers are loving and empathetic…they are here when you need any tips! The administration is prompt and accommodating. They don’t sell anything — they think about your situation and suggest what’s good for you. The programs encourage our children to build up new skills every day, develop inner discipline, be respectful, lead others, and challenge themselves.

Our program

Our elementary program is truly unique: a mixed-aged Montessori community, with first through sixth graders learning alongside one another in a rich social environment. It exemplifies the Montessori approach of practiced autonomy and self-mastery; of highly individualized lessons and extended periods of concentrated work. Within that framework, we embed a sequence of classical academic content in the humanities and the sciences, which motivates student-led project-based learning (PBL).
