Our approach is designed to empower each child to achieve independence by combining our hands-on curriculum with personalized learning to create an environment where curiosity flourishes, independence grows, and academic excellence is a natural outcome.

We want your child to see and believe: “I am capable!”

what makes us stand out.

How is the Guidepost Montessori approach different from conventional education?.

At Guidepost, we join with parents on their mission to help their child grow and live well. Together, we design an education to empower each child to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence she needs to craft an independent, flourishing life.

Though there are many differences between the conventional approach and Guidepost, here are some of the most important:

Conventional Education vs Guidepost Montessori
What is the Guidepost Mission?.

At Guidepost, our mission is to support each child in achieving her own independence. To do this, we help her gain the knowledge, build the skills, and craft the personal character she needs to flourish. Above all, our goal is to cultivate joy—in the pursuit of knowledge, in effort applied to work worth doing, in the achievements of herself and others, and in taking the steps to author her own life.

What are the outcomes of your programs?.

Montessori education is known world-wide for having positive impacts on both academics and social and emotional skills.

At Guidepost Montessori, when we design an environment to meet the developmental needs and interests of children alongside personalized care and support, the child can learn advanced skills at an accelerated pace.

Our students, for example, regularly learn to read by the time they’re 4-years-old and can perform all four math operations with 4-digit numbers by the end of their Kindergarten year.

The language and math skills of our kindergartners are on a par with what children in conventional programs learn in 3rd grade or beyond! What’s more, our students learn advanced academics joyfully—while simultaneously developing deep focus, self-discipline, and positive social skills.

Do your programs include Kindergarten?.

Yes! The third year of our Children’s House program, designed for 3- to 6-year-olds, is the capstone kindergarten year. In this year, the child has been well-prepared to experience an explosion of literacy, learn advanced math concepts, and use her hard-won ability to focus, problem-solve, and persist through challenges to then make advanced gains across the curriculum. Children who continue with Guidepost through Kindergarten are often well-ahead of their peers when they enter 1st grade.

Following elementary, students continue on to our Montessori middle and high school, the Academy of Thought & Industry: a school that combines a classical liberal arts emphasis on history and great books, and a Montessori emphasis on independence and agency.

How does Guidepost partner with parents?.

At Guidepost, we want to make the best education the best for children and parents. This is why we provide year-round, extended-day programming at no extra cost, enabling consistent and uninterrupted access to the care and developmental support parents expect. We invite you into your child’s world—with daily photo and video updates, regular milestone meetings, and parent-child events that showcase your child’s progress. We work to understand your unique context and needs, so that we can provide support for milestones at home as well as at school.

In everything we do, we strive to cultivate joy as you watch your child grow!

discover the benefits of our spanish immersion programs.

Children under the age of six absorb language effortlessly, which is why we are pleased to offer bilingual environments. In our Spanish Immersion program, children learn both Spanish and English literacy skills, however, the prevailing language spoken throughout the day is Spanish. The overall emphasis on Spanish rapidly increases fluency, as children feel naturally compelled to communicate with their Spanish-speaking guides. Learn more about our Spanish Immersion program here

Our two year old is in one of the Spanish Immersion classes and we absolutely love it. The opportunity to learn and be immersed in another language and learn different cultures at such a young age is what drew us to the school. The way the children are taught grace and courtesy, patience, sharing and life skills is beautiful. The children are calm and happy. This school is incredible and we are beyond happy! The Guides and staff at Guidepost Montessori at Spruce Tree are all so genuinely caring, warm and nurturing. Our son loves going to school and we are thrilled with the care and learning experience he receives. The way Guidepost has responded to C-19 has been so reassuring and we feel safe and comforted knowing our son isn't missing out on socialization, learning and fun. The Guidepost family continues to include parents as much as possible via online reading circles, parties and more. Thank you Guidepost for all you do for the children and us parents! We are grateful for you beyond measure!

The staff and administration have been so amazing here. Our twins have been with guidepost in their Spanish immersion program since they were 18 months. I would say that although there has been a couple of changes in leadership and with the guides, this train still runs so nicely. It's as if the right people are meant to be a part of this environment. And now that we have reached some sort of calm with COVID, I can look back and think about how grateful i was to be able to have two of some of this school's best guides continue the program in my home, until that was no longer an option when everything first shut down. As my daughter runs through the halls hugging guides and my son walks in so confident, I think about this and smile. No school I would imagine is perfect... but even through the hiccups the guides and leadership find a way to work through it all with grace. I could go on and on...Thank you all so much!

We love being a part of the guidepost family! The teachers and staff are all so lovely, caring, and helpful. The facility is clean and safe. They also have great technology including daily newsletters with photos and activity updates of your child’s day. We really appreciate the Montessori approach and our toddler has flourished in this new environment. They even helped to potty train her before her second birthday! We look forward to continuing to grow within this community.

This place is beyond amazing! We moved to the area knowing no one and toured Guidepost while looking for a Montessori school for our son. Guidepost was so welcoming and was able to help us out-even through the Covid crisis. Our son has not only grown and learned so much, but he has thrived in his education in every way at Guidepost! From mind, body and social skills- Guidepost helps your child grow and learn through kindness and mutual respect. You can tell that those who work there love their job and love their kids. My son used to be so upset going to his old daycare, but he now happily walks in independently with a smile on his face every morning to be greeted by his teachers! We are so grateful for such a supportive place- where not only do we know our son is well cared for- but we can also see so much improvement at home- his communication has skyrocketed, he sleeps through the night, he is more settled, and he has such confidence in his independence- and he’s just a toddler! Thank you so much Guidepost- I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a well rounded education!!

My son, George, has been attending Guidepost Montessori at Spruce Tree since he was only eight weeks old in the midst of the pandemic. With so much uncertainty going on in the world, Guidepost was the one thing I could be sure of. I knew my son would be in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Although, George has only attended school for a little over six months I have seen him grow in his independence and become his own person. I am so grateful that my child has the opportunity to attend a school where his guides (teachers) are dedicated in investing in him. Our family adores the individualized approach and the option for Spanish Immersion. It is extremely important to me that George is exposed to other languages, cultures, and traditions and that is exactly what he is getting, even in the infant classroom! If you are looking for a school for your child and want them to be seen as an individual I would definitely recommend Guidepost Montessori. I cannot thank Guidepost enough for all they do for our son.
