Children under the age of six absorb language effortlessly, which is why we are pleased to offer bilingual environments. In our Spanish Immersion program, children learn both Spanish and English literacy skills, however, the prevailing language spoken throughout the day is Spanish. The overall emphasis on Spanish rapidly increases fluency, as children feel naturally compelled to communicate with their Spanish-speaking guides. Learn more about our Spanish Immersion program here

I love, love, love Deerfield!!! In order to give you perspective I will first tell you about the first Montessori school we took our daughter to, and then contrast it with how Deerfield does things. My husband and I had found the Pinterest perfect Montessori school in Milton and we thought we had found the best place for my 3 month old daughter. Little did we know that as pretty as that place was, as much make up and well dressed every one there was, it was not, in fact, a Montessori school. They kept telling me that they didn’t have time to send photos or updates on my daughter. When we started introducing foods, we decided to go with the baby led weaning method. There cannot be a more “montessorian” way to introduce food to infants. I kept sending food to school and the food kept being sent back home looking untouched. I questioned the room guide several times and finally I set an appointment to talk to her in person. When I got there I was surprised by it being her and the director of the school. They had the gal to tell me that they would give my daughter the food I was sending, but if something happened to her it was on me because they were just too busy to watch her. To make it clear: they wanted me to send purées, instant oats and other processed baby food instead of the the home cooked meals prepared following the BLW guidelines. Even after that disastrous meeting, I still sent her to school one more day just to receive a video of the teacher banging on her table telling her to eat while she cried and then the teacher showing the other children eating and just my child crying in front of the food I had sent her. It broke my heart and blinded me in anger. I did not know where I would send her, but decided to remove her from school that same day. By coincidence I drove by Deerfield and decided to call. Jessica got me in the same day. When I told her my story she empathized with me, showed me around, assured me that BLW was not an issue and that my daughter would be welcomed there. Deerfield delivered on every single promise. My daughter has been at Deerfield for a couple of months now. She eats like a champ the food I send from home, and anything else you put in front of her lol. She is thriving. She loves her guides and her guides love her. She is all smiles in the morning and in the afternoon. And my husband and I are involved in her day to day. Different from that other place we get to drop her off and pick her up at the classroom door, we get to participate in school events with her, we get to see photos of what her days are like every day and we get reports on her progress daily. Her guides are open to discussion and to teach us how to continue the Montessori education at home. The director, Nikki, is the most proactive, present, and empathetic person I’ve encountered in this last year of navigating day care/school for the first time. Jessica is so helpful and so sweet. I simply cannot recommend Deerfield enough. For as fancy, high security, pretty the other place was, it has nothing on Deerfield’s competence, care, communication, commitment to the children and the parents.

We have been associated with guidepost Montessori at Deerfield for a little more than 3 years now. Our elder kid started at guidepost since he was 3 months old and he has been loving the daycare since he has started recognizing the place. There are weekends where he wants to goto "school" and the reason for this is because he gets so much love and care from the guides. All the guides that we have come across are super knowledgeable and always ready to help. Activity wise they offer kids a lot more exposure which helps in a kid's all round development. We had our 2nd born and he's been going to the guidepost at deerfield for over 6 months now and we are having the exact same experience. All I can say is if you are looking for a daycare do stop at guidepost and I'm sure you will love it!

This school is a dream come true for our family! The staff is so caring and true to the Montessori philosophy. The school is clean and beautiful. There is great communication from the guides to parents via a classroom app. I can see wonderful pictures everyday of my children working with so many valuable Montessori materials. My children are flourishing and I am confident that a huge reason for that is all that they are learning at Guidepost Montessori at Deerfield. It is truly our home away from home!

Our daughter has been at Guidepost for 6 months and we love the school, teachers, staff and the head of school. Montessori is the way to go and specifically Guidepost in my opinion is the best in the area based on our search. Our daughter's vocabulary, independence, happiness, motor skills and active personality are attributes that this school has contributed to immensely.

How is the Guidepost Montessori approach different from conventional education?

At Guidepost, we join with parents on their mission to help their child grow and live well. Together, we design an education to empower each child to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence she needs to craft an independent, flourishing life.

Though there are many differences between the conventional approach and Guidepost, here are some of the most important:

Conventional Education vs Guidepost Montessori
What is the Guidepost Mission?

At Guidepost, our mission is to support each child in achieving her own independence. To do this, we help her gain the knowledge, build the skills, and craft the personal character she needs to flourish. Above all, our goal is to cultivate joy—in the pursuit of knowledge, in effort applied to work worth doing, in the achievements of herself and others, and in taking the steps to author her own life.

Read more about why we educate for independence, and how we support independence for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-age children.

What are the outcomes of your programs?

Montessori education is known world-wide for having positive impacts on both academics and social and emotional skills.

At Guidepost Montessori, when we design an environment to meet the developmental needs and interests of children alongside personalized care and support, the child can learn advanced skills at an accelerated pace.

Our students, for example, regularly learn to read by the time they’re 4-years-old and can perform all four math operations with 4-digit numbers by the end of their Kindergarten year.

The language and math skills of our kindergartners are on a par with what children in conventional programs learn in 3rd grade or beyond! What’s more, our students learn advanced academics joyfully—while simultaneously developing deep focus, self-discipline, and positive social skills.

Do your programs include Kindergarten?

Yes! The third year of our Children’s House program, designed for 3- to 6-year-olds, is the capstone kindergarten year. In this year, the child has been well-prepared to experience an explosion of literacy, learn advanced math concepts, and use her hard-won ability to focus, problem-solve, and persist through challenges to then make advanced gains across the curriculum. Children who continue with Guidepost through Kindergarten are often well-ahead of their peers when they enter 1st grade.

Learn more about the next exciting stage: the Guidepost elementary program.

Following elementary, students continue on to our Montessori middle and high school, the Academy of Thought & Industry: a school that combines a classical liberal arts emphasis on history and great books, and a Montessori emphasis on independence and agency.

How does Guidepost partner with parents?

At Guidepost, we want to make the best education the best for children and parents. This is why we provide year-round, extended-day programming at no extra cost, enabling consistent and uninterrupted access to the care and developmental support parents expect. We invite you into your child’s world—with daily photo and video updates, regular milestone meetings, and parent-child events that showcase your child’s progress. We work to understand your unique context and needs, so that we can provide support for milestones at home as well as at school.

In everything we do, we strive to cultivate joy as you watch your child grow!
