The Guidepost Difference: Programs and Network

The term Montessori is not trademarked. Any school can slap Montessori on a sign. So, how can parents seeking a Montessori education for their elementary child discern quality and determine fidelity to Montessori principles?

Guidepost Montessori prides itself on hiring and retaining guides to deliver an authentic Montessori education. Each of our schools has a major stake in the success of each guide, each classroom and each school in our growing organization.

The professional development branch of Guidepost Montessori exists to ensure that each guide receives personal, customized support to, in turn, reinforce our thriving global network. As of today, our elementary programs serve students at multiple campuses in California; Florida; New York; North Carolina; Vienna, Austria; and Texas, and is expanding.

Our Guidepost elementary guides have different needs than our guides for Nido or Children’s House. For example, in elementary, the volume of material covered increases and standardized testing is introduced. Social conflict looks different in elementary than it does in a toddler class and requires a different skill set. Guidepost supports its teaching staff as they hone their craft.

Our guides also have access to mentors, who are fellow Montessori guides, to collaborate with and talk through issues that arise. In addition, there are around 500 guides in our network, to date, who can support one another on an informal basis.

For more formal guidance and support, guides also have the opportunity to work with coaches, who are deeply experienced Montessori educators. These coaches serve as thought partners to help guides troubleshoot challenges and help them recognize the wonderful work that is happening in their classrooms. Our coaches advise, inspire, motivate, and champion our guides.

This level of support is unprecedented in school settings, and our guides are raving about it. Come visit a Guidepost elementary classroom and see our program quality for yourself!

Guidepost Montessori provides authentic, child-centered education for children ages 0 to 12. With over 80 campuses across the US and Asia, and at-home and virtual learning programs serving more than 5,000 families worldwide, Guidepost is the world’s largest Montessori network.
