Parent Effectiveness Training
Wednesday January 23
Guidepost Montessori at Alicia
Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) is a highly effective program that has helped millions of parents build stronger, more respectful and loving families. Pioneered in 1962 by three-time Nobel Prize nominee Thomas Gordon, we're delighted to welcome families starting January 2019 to join us for an 8-week P.E.T. workshop, lead by Katherine Dickerson of Gordon Training International.

At these workshop, parents will practice and improve upon:
• Proven communication and conflict-resolution skills
• Cooperation (without blaming or shaming)
• Building closer relationships with your children, family members, and others
• Reducing power struggles, more closeness, respect, fun, appreciation, and love
Using these skills, you will lead your children to have and use more self-discipline, self-control, and a stronger sense of personal responsibility as well as fewer tantrums, more initiative, more independence. In addition, this will encourage your children to be more open to discussing their problems and concerns with you directly.
