I am so excited to be apart of the Guidepost family. I am a dedicated educator with a passion for fostering learning and growth. I studied Business and operations at Walden university and will be attending Spelman college in January to obtain my MBA.

Outside of my professional pursuits I enjoy traveling and or trying new restaurants with my husband. As I look to the future, I am committed to making education, accessible and impactful equipping the next generation with the skills they need to thrive.

spanish immersion at guidepost duluth.

Children under the age of 6 absorb language effortlessly, which is why we are pleased to offer bilingual environments. In Guidepost at Duluth's Spanish Immersion program, children learn both Spanish and English literacy skills, however, the prevailing language spoken throughout the day is Spanish. The overall emphasis on Spanish rapidly increases fluency, as children feel naturally compelled to communicate with their Spanish-speaking guides. Learn more about our Spanish Immersion program here

after speaking to Michelle about the benefits of Guidepost- Duluth, we decided to enroll our little one into the school on a part time basis. She adapted so well to Ms. Mithra and the Guidepost Montessori philosophy of learning, that she started full time after a few short months. Overall, our daughter spent her entire KG year at Guidepost Duluth, and then started First Grade at our local elementary school. Her transition to our local school was seamless and more importantly, she goes to school happily because she associates learning with fun. We have Guidepost- Duluth and its wonderful staff to thank for that. As of the date of this review, we fully recommend Guidepost-Duluth to anyone who is considering enrolling their child at this location.

It is difficult to explain the importance of high quality in a daycare. This school has complete free range of movement, instruction and curriculum tailored to each child, AND Spanish immersion and bilingual classrooms. My son started in the baby room just before his first birthday and it became obvious immediately they were building skills like language and gross motor skills. I new we chose right when the guides (teachers) started to share the same observations that my husband and I had. Not only was that a good sign but to validated our ideas about our son’s development. My son is now almost 2.5 and well-adjusted in his toddler community. The last open-house I was amazed how Leo knew just about all the staff and hugged many arms wide open. It’s not enough to know that my child’s classroom provides support but that ANY adult that walks into his classroom is trusted and quality. This review is focused on the educational aspect, the management staff go above and beyond to enroll and help your child adjust to the school!!! Never fear with Guidepost Duluth!!!! 💙

We have absolutely loved our experience at Guidepost Duluth. The school is so clean and bright, with simple (but plentiful) decor and classrooms as true to the Montessori way. Our lead guides Miss Sonali and then Miss Samana and Miss Kelly have been wonderful. Turnover hasn't been bad compared to other childcare places. More than anything, the school is run really well - they communicate and they're organized. The head of school Michelle and the assistant Kayla are on their game. We are moving soon so will be leaving, and since touring other schools I can confirm nothing is coming close to this. I would highly recommend!

Ok, this is long overdue review. Guidepost Montessori Duluth is AMAZING! We enrolled our baby girl at 9M. She is currently 16M and loving it! They have super low ratio teachers to babies for the infants class. Everyone is amazing. Ms Kayla is such a gentle and loving soul. She always knows everything that has happend to our girl during the day. She and the other teachers get so excited when our girl learns something new or says a new word and can't wait to share with us! Everything is new, which us a plus :) Have lots of events and activities for the kiddoes. In the online portal you can see at any point of time what is going on with your baby, they log everything all the time. Also they take pictures almost every day and send them. This is so fantastic! Especially in the beginning when you enroll your baby and you are a nervous ball! The leadership Ms Amy and Tina are the best. Super kind and helpful all the time. Last but not least, well the Montessori style of education is just one of a kind. We did chose them because of Montessori. Also Guidepost schools are so much better than other Montessori ones. Just can't say enough great things about this place. Get your kid in there! You won't regret it.

Our boys love Guidepost and greet their guides with huge smiles daily. Everyone is so welcoming and loving towards the boys. They learn so much and get great support as they learn their skills. I love getting daily pictures of what the get up to, the daily reports are helpful and reassuring, and the wonderful Nido guide provides a longer weekly report so we get a good picture of what our boys are doing, need to work on, or adjust in our schedule. The classrooms are beautiful with very nice resources, furniture, and tools/toys. The boys love exploring and interacting with the toys, the other kids, and guides. There is a ballet bar for the Nido room to practice standing and cruising, a mirrors for the boys to find themselves in, and small furniture so they can practice sitting at a table for their snack. We love that they have weekend activities occasionally too so we can meet other Guidepost families! We made the right decision in sending the boys to Guidepost Montessori in Duluth!

My 23 month old loves coming to school everyday in the toddler community! In 1 month, she’s become so much more independent and seems so much happier overall. She cleans up after herself at home, has advanced in her readiness for potty training, and is talking so much more than she was a month ago. We both love it ♥️

We have been sending both our kids to Guidepost for a few months now and our kids have grown so much. Everyday when the kids walk into the classroom, their Guides are there to welcome them in. Everyone there is so friendly and kind. Our kids have learned so much and becoming more independent. They have learned so many new lessons and skills. We really appreciate all the effort everyone at Guidepost puts into every detail.

A welcoming and warm school with very professional, kind, and thoughtful teachers and administration! I have a little one in the Nido/Infant room that has never cried once during drop off. She greets her teachers with a big smile! They'll go above and beyond your expectations for the care of your children.

How is the Guidepost Montessori approach different from conventional education?

At Guidepost, we join with parents on their mission to help their child grow and live well. Together, we design an education to empower each child to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence she needs to craft an independent, flourishing life.

Though there are many differences between the conventional approach and Guidepost, here are some of the most important:

Conventional Education vs Guidepost Montessori
What is the Guidepost Mission?

At Guidepost, our mission is to support each child in achieving her own independence. To do this, we help her gain the knowledge, build the skills, and craft the personal character she needs to flourish. Above all, our goal is to cultivate joy—in the pursuit of knowledge, in effort applied to work worth doing, in the achievements of herself and others, and in taking the steps to author her own life.

What are the outcomes of your programs?

Montessori education is known world-wide for having positive impacts on both academics and social and emotional skills.

At Guidepost Montessori, when we design an environment to meet the developmental needs and interests of children alongside personalized care and support, the child can learn advanced skills at an accelerated pace.

Our students, for example, regularly learn to read by the time they’re 4-years-old and can perform all four math operations with 4-digit numbers by the end of their Kindergarten year.

The language and math skills of our kindergartners are on a par with what children in conventional programs learn in 3rd grade or beyond! What’s more, our students learn advanced academics joyfully—while simultaneously developing deep focus, self-discipline, and positive social skills.

Do your programs include Kindergarten?

Yes! The third year of our Children’s House program, designed for 3- to 6-year-olds, is the capstone kindergarten year. In this year, the child has been well-prepared to experience an explosion of literacy, learn advanced math concepts, and use her hard-won ability to focus, problem-solve, and persist through challenges to then make advanced gains across the curriculum. Children who continue with Guidepost through Kindergarten are often well-ahead of their peers when they enter 1st grade.

Learn more about the next exciting stage: the Guidepost elementary program.

Following elementary, students continue on to our Montessori middle and high school, the Academy of Thought & Industry: a school that combines a classical liberal arts emphasis on history and great books, and a Montessori emphasis on independence and agency.

How does Guidepost partner with parents?

At Guidepost, we want to make the best education the best for children and parents. This is why we provide year-round, extended-day programming at no extra cost, enabling consistent and uninterrupted access to the care and developmental support parents expect. We invite you into your child’s world—with daily photo and video updates, regular milestone meetings, and parent-child events that showcase your child’s progress. We work to understand your unique context and needs, so that we can provide support for milestones at home as well as at school.

In everything we do, we strive to cultivate joy as you watch your child grow!
